Remebering Akihiko Mochizuki San

Mr.Akihiko Mochizuki was my Project Manager for the Vehicular Tunnel Project in Palm Jumeirah Island in Dubai, for my Company Taisei Corporation. He was a gem of a person, with many a qualities, worthy of adopting into one's life. I was often encouraged and supported during our interaction and he played a major role in changing my profile.

Last year he had to go back to Japan for detailed treatment for a disease which he never disclosed to any one in Dubai till we received the shocking news of his heavenly abode.

Dear Mochi San

While we are waiting for your much anticipated return,

To join and guide us through this toughest of period,

We are, thrust upon this heartbreaking news of,

You choosing heavenly abode, instead!

We are bereaved of your invaluable teachings,

Most of them through your 'just' presence,

We are impaired of your powerful thoughts,

That could still, lead us in confidence.

You cared your team and respected their feelings,

While accepting their views and believes,

You regarded your seniors with traditional values,

While, still upholding your own conceives.

You showed us to plan and work the plan,

You taught us to work and enjoy the work,

You dared us to challenge the impossible and

You made us to believe it is achievable.

We will imbibe your principles,

We will absorb your ethics,

We will remember you always and

You are immortal in our thoughts!!!

89 Class Artificers and the ‘Get-Together Saga’ I belong to this wonderful group of people from pan India; Simply we are known as 89- That’s it! We are the 89 th class of Artificers who joined the Indian Navy as Apprentices in Jan 1987. Since then, we together have completed training, active service and eventually retired after completing the contracted defense service period.   Originally, we were 225- but now reduced to 214; missing 11 have left for heavenly abode earlier than expected. Out of the 214, few are non-reachable as they have ‘deserted’ from Navy long back, and lost their whereabouts, sadly! Much later to our retirement and thanks to the social media revolution, we started communicating with each other, again through various platforms.   89 Class Artificers and the ‘Get-Together Saga’ - Part 3. On 30 th Aug, by noon time, the 'supposedly' air-conditioned bus reached the accommodation to transport us to Araku Valley. It will pass through the Airport to pick up the last group. Journey to Araku Valley is incredibly picturesque, offering stunning views along the way- if only, someone has peeped through the windows!   The road is filled with numerous hairpin bends   which add a sense of adventure to the trip. The weather was wonderfully pleasant and ‘sexy’. Occasional fog and the light drizzles frequently occurred should have added a refreshing touch to the atmosphere—  As the 'charging' continued on the bus, too, everyone was engaged!
